Why should you care if PHCC advocates for you in the governmental arena on Capitol Hill and throughout the state and local legislative bodies in the country?  Advocacy is more than lobbying.  Decision makers must be made aware of and truly understand your needs in order to make the decisions that they feel are right for their constituencies.  Otherwise, decisions are made without your interests being considered.  PHCC builds the awareness by being constantly visible to the lawmakers in this country.  That is why the PHCC Government Relations efforts are so important and why the PHCC-PAC makes us so effective. 

PHCC-MPA monitors hundreds of legislative proposals and dozens of administrative rules, advocating for member interests in Madison, and when necessary, at the local level.   Recent legislative successes include the creation of administrative forfeitures for license violations and modifications to update the definition of "plumbing" to allow for safe installation of water reuse systems.  PHCC-MPA is an appointing organization for the state's plumbing code, HVAC code, plumbing licensing, and apprenticeship advisory committees.
