Report a Code Violation
As licensed plumbers, we see an increasing amount of plumbing work being performed by unlicensed individuals. When the first plumbing code was written, the intent was to protect the health and safety of the public. Plumbing work done by unlicensed persons accomplishes neither of these and cost the consumer a tremendous amount of money to correct substandard (and potentially dangerous) work.
PHCC-MPA, along with other groups and associations from across the state, have complained repeatedly about these problems, but have gotten little satisfaction. Budget constraints are the most frequently cited reasons for the lack of enforcement when these types of problems are reported.
While we would be happy to take on the role of an enforcement agency, that responsibility is reserved to state and local government officials. What we can do is to make certain that reported violations are investigated.
You can submit a complaint to the Department of Commerce by visiting:

Please send a copy to PHCC-MPA so that we can follow up on the complaint and see what enforcement action, if any, has been taken.
